George Tsurapas

George Tsurapas was born on November 20, 1925, and entered into eternal life on January 15, 2021 (95 years of age).  During his early years in Greece, in the village where he was born, it was common practice that families wouldn't register births for a couple of years.  So, in reality, he was actually 97.  George had the most kind and gentle heart.  He knew how to put a smile on your face whether you were family or a stranger.  He was very strong and independent even at 97 years of age.  Many people don't know that after his wife Magdalini passed, his grandson Alex moved in with George to help take care of him.  They were roommates for almost 3 1/2 years before we, unfortunately, had to move him into a nursing facility at his request.  It meant so much to George to have his grandson living with him. He would always comment on how special he felt having Alex living there with him.

George is preceded in death by his parents, Dimitri and Panagiota Tsourapas, and his brother Vasilis Tsourapas.  He is survived by his sister: Theodora Zgourou, Kalamata, Greece. His loving son: James (Lynn) Tsurapas, grandson: Alex Tsurapas, and numerous other family members.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George may be made to the Assumption of the Theotokos Cathedral in his name.
