Georganne Sugden

Georganne Bugbee Sugden, 77, of Centennial, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and renowned children’s theater teacher passed away on January 9th, 2022.  She died peacefully in her sleep, while recovering from surgery.

She is survived by her loving husband, John, son John and grandsons John and Sean.

A light in the service of children’s happiness and creativity, for 40 years in the Denver Area and 54 years over her lifetime she taught theater to children 3 years old to 12th grade at Stage Eleven/Young Actors Theatre, her own school, and other public and private schools. Over the course of her career she received many accolades such as being recognized by the Governor of Colorado for her contribution to performing arts, but her greatest reward was always unlocking the creative joy that is in children. To see a young person take a risk, connect to their imagination and thrive in shows, classes and their life outside the theater was her joy.

She changed lives with gentle guidance, humor, wit and kindness and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Graveside Celebration of her Life will be Friday, January 21, 2022, 1pm, Mount Olivet Cemetery. The celebration will be live-streamed for those who cannot attend.
