Obituary

Frank (Diz) Dzikowski, 82, of Aurora Colorado, passed away at home on May 17, 2023, after a brief illness. He passed peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his family.

Frank was born in Toledo, Ohio, on March 18th, 1941, to Frank and Helen Dzykowski. He played football in his school years and he loved cars - especially his first '57 Chevy. He graduated from Macomber High in 1959. He then began working for Capital Airlines, which soon merged with United Airlines.

In 1980, Frank transferred to Denver, Colorado, and the family headed West a few months later. Working from Stapleton Int'l Airport, and later Denver Int'l Airport, he held a variety of roles including Concierge, supporting United's 1K customers (and the occasional celebrity!) In 2003, Frank concluded his 40+ year United career and bought himself the Cadillac he always wanted.

Frank's hobbies included golfing (often traveling to tournaments), bowling, watching Rockies baseball, playing cards, listening to live music, dancing and socializing with his wide circle of friends.

Frank is preceded in death by his brothers Arthur (wife Joan) Szymanski and Victor (wife Eleanor) Szymanski. He is survived by his daughter Annette Sakai of Aurora, Colorado (partner Boyd Hayden), daughter Deanna Evans of Oakland, California (husband Erik), and former spouse Susan Dzikowski of Toledo, Ohio.

Please join the family for an open house-style celebration of Frank's life on Sunday, June 4th, 2023, from 1-4pm at Aurora Hills Golf Course Banquet Room.

We wish to extend a special thank you to the dedicated and kind staff of Denver Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the hospice at https://thedenverhospice.org/giving/
