Francis Maloney

Francis A. Maloney Jr., 76 of Aurora, Colorado passed away Sunday, March 14th, 2021.

Francis was born in Danville, Virginia in 1944 to parents Francis Maloney Sr and Virginia Harrison. He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969, and attended the University of Florida and Brigham Young University, where he earned degrees in both biology and chemistry.

Francis worked as an entomologist for the United State Department of the Army for over 40 years at Fitzsimons Army Base in Colorado, and later at Fort Lewis in Washington state. He was an avid coin collector and genealogist; he was well known in the LDS community for his genealogical research expertise.

Francis was predeceased by his wife Constance LaRaine Johnson and his elder sister Agnes Elizabeth Hinga. He is survived by his three children; son Trenton (Audrey) Maloney, son Thomas (Heather) Maloney and daughter Melissa Maloney; and his two grandchildren Dorothy & Dustin; and two great-grandchildren April and Christian, as well as his sister Virginia Jones.

Services will be held on Friday, March 26th at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held from 10-11 am, with a graveside service at 11:30.
