Evelyn "Gg" Adams

GG (Evelyn), born in Michigan on June 6, 1921, was 100 years old when she passed away, peacefully with her daughter and grandchildren on June 11, 2021.  GG lived a long life and devoted her life spreading the word of Jesus. GG and her husband (Gpa) were farmers and missionaries.  They were farmers in Michigan and North Dakota and raised three kids on the farm. Their mission work began in 1951 traveling across the world to Japan with their kids where they spent a few years there and then came back to the states.  In 1960 the calling to return to mission work took them back to Asia. GG and Gpa devoted their lives ministering in Asia spreading the word of Jesus and teaching how to have a relationship with God. They traveled to Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Korea.  They made countless friends overseas who kept in touch with them over the years.  After her mission work, she worked for The Voice of China and Asia, a missionary organization.

She was the person the family always gravitated to.  GG was a loving mother to five children, Laura, Charles, Arnie, June Ann and Rose.  A grandma to eight grandkids, BJ (Lisa) Wilson, Laurinda (Tommy) McIntosh, Lessia (GT) Sanford, David (Jeanne) Adams, Robert (Deanna) Adams, Kimberly (Curtis) Windsor, Mike (Bobbie Jo) Crouch, Tim (Donna) Crouch and Carmen.  She earned her title of GG as a great-grandma to 18 great-grandchildren.  She was a lucky lady to see 14 great-great-grandchildren join the family. GG was always there for her family, she loved us all fiercely.  She was a loyal, loving and determined woman.  We all could rely on her, she always told you how she felt, and she meant every word she spoke.  She used to tell us “I will ask you once, if I ask again that’s grace, if I ask a third time you better look out”.  She was the giver of the best bear hugs and bear kisses.  Baby bear was always gentle, Mama bear was loving, Papa bear was bigger than life.  She was those three personalities all rolled into one.  She was the constant and steady voice you would always hear in your mind and the family’s prayer warrior.

She will be missed dearly by her family.  She would always whisper an “I love you” and gave a wink when we would say goodbye after visiting.

You are welcome to attend a visitation service at Horan and McConaty at 3101 S. Wadsworth from 11:30am-12:30pm.  GG will have a burial service at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 1:00 pm, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Gpa.  You are also welcome to attend that service.
