Douglas Henry Haack, age 67, unexpectedly passed away en route to the hospital on the morning of March 10, 2023 Crested Butte, CO, where he lived. He was a graduate of Regis University in Denver, CO, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Following graduation, he married his high school sweetheart Teresa (Terri) Ann (née O’Hayre) in 1978, and the two were married for nearly 45 years until the day of his passing.

Following a career as Director of Economic Development at the Boulder, CO, Chamber of Commerce, Doug spent several years as a flight instructor at the Williamsburg, VA, regional airport before achieving a lifelong dream of becoming a commercial airline pilot. He spent many years as a First Officer for United Airlines, and then as a Captain for Delta Airlines,  and he was a proprietor of his own small business, Digital Photogenics, LLC., where he worked until his retirement.

Doug was a lifelong skier, avid golfer, professional photographer, and an accomplished traditional and graphic artist.

He is survived by his wife Terri, son Brian, brother Daniel (Bonnie), and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends. He was preceded in death by both parents, Robert and Jane, and eldest brother David.

Funeral services will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church,4380 Utica Street, Denver, Colorado 80212, on Saturday, March 18, at 9:30AM, immediately followed by burial services at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 12801 W. 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033. Reception will follow after burial at 7340 Jay Street, Arvada, Colorado 80003.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity Los Angeles or to the Crested Butte Mountain Rescue Team.
