Diane Minnick

December 20, 1958 — December 22, 2020

Diane Carol Minnick, 62, of Westminster, Colorado passed away on December 22, 2020 at her home with family by her side.

Diane Carol McConnell was born on December 20, 1958 in Kearney, Nebraska to parents Gary and Shirley (Weed) McConnell. She moved with her family to Thornton Colorado in 1962, where she attended Kindergarten through 12th grade, graduating in 1977 at Highland High School. She lived in the Thornton and Westminster areas for the remainder of her life. She often worked odd jobs at odd hours so she could spend more time with her family. In May of 1996, she extended her education by completing her Associate of Science Degree from Front Range College. She worked at home as a medical transcriber for many years and in December of 2013 was excited to start work for the City of Westminster, where she was still employed as a guest relations clerk at the time of her death.

She enjoyed riding her bike, playing volleyball, pickleball and guitar, as well as traveling and trips to the family cabin. Most of all, she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Diane was so proud of all her children and their accomplishments.

She will be remembered as the matriarch of the family, hosting many family gatherings. She thought it was her place to do so since she had the most kids. She was caring, thoughtful, loving and had a huge heart.

She is survived by her children: AJ (Janelle) Heiser, Stephen (Elizabeth) Heiser, Janae (Alex) Bowie, and Jeremy Minnick, six grandchildren: Austin and Sawyer Heiser, Kaylin and Bailey Heiser, and Bryson and Connor Bowie, her mother Shirley McConnell, brother Darrell (Lisa) McConnell, sister Denice (George) Lang and niece Molly McConnell.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Terry Minnick and her father Gary McConnell.
