Dennis Jones

Dennis Frank Jones, age 78 died at home on February 2, 2021 of cancer.  He was born October 27, 1942 in Logan, Utah to Frank Worley Jones, Jr. and Eileen Naylor Jones.  He graduated from Brigham Young High School and from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.   Following high school graduation, he served two years on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Gulf States Mission (Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, western Tennessee and south eastern Missouri).  He also served eight years in the U.S. Army Reserve.  Honorably discharged in 1980.

Dennis started his career working for Wells Fargo Bank as a commercial lending officer in San Francisco, California.  He then moved to Denver to manage the investment portfolios for Western Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company and five related casualty companies.  The last 40 years of his career was in investment banking putting together bond financings.  His favorite clients were Safeway Stores, PGA Tour and Christian Living Communities.  The majority of the latter part of his career was focused on bond financing of healthcare and affordable housing facilities.

Dennis was recently appointed by Governor Polis to the Board of Directors of Colorado Health Facilities Authority.  He has also served for 12 years on the Board of Directors of Christian Living Corp. and six years on the Board of Marycrest Assisted Living Corp. (three years as Chairman).

He is survived by his wife, Rickie and his five children, Dr. Kristin Tarbet (Frank), Denice Allen (Craig), Bradley Dennis Jones (Lisa), McKenzie Jones (Anthony Smith) and stepson, Christopher Philipp.  He has four grandchildren, Connor Tarbet, Jack & Lydia Jones and Ella Lynn Smith.  He is also survived by his brother, Scott Worley Jones, his wife Shannon and their four children.

The funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Centennial Ward Chapel at 1939 East Easter Avenue, Centennial, CO  80112 on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
