Colin Morrison

March 4, 1978 — November 3, 2021

Colin Morrison, age 43, passed away on November 3, 2021. Colin was born on March 4, 1978, in Denver, Colorado, and had several parents who loved him, including his father James Morrison, mother Alexis Namaste, stepfather Morri Namaste and his stepmother Jadine Morrison, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife Heather Morrison. After 18 years together, they would have celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary on November 7.

Colin’s brother Christopher Manganello and sister-in-law Kara Archuleta are among several grieving siblings who formed strong bonds with him that were forged through blood, marriage and adoption.

Colin had a host of passions and was incredibly talented at so many things. As many who’ve received one or a million fish pics can attest, he was an avid fisherman who jumped at basically any opportunity to drop a line in the water. He rarely kept his catches and was careful to get them back in the water quickly.

He was also a committed athlete and instructor at Mile High Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, where he trained for more than two decades, receiving his black belt in 2014. Colin made an indelible impression on generations of fighters, some of whom competed professionally.

So many benefited from Colin’s incredible skill and talent when it came to carpentry and home improvements. After more than two decades of learning the craft, he served as a highly-valued project manager for Original Roots Design+Build, but always made himself available to help friends and family members with their own home projects, large and small.

Colin was a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, mentor, friend, and was also a father figure and vital role model for so many kids in his life. He was unwaveringly selfless and his love, patience and support for others was seemingly endless. Colin was an avid reader, hip hop aficionado, and, in recent years, a committed vegetarian (unless it came to his wife’s uneaten leftovers). He spent much of his time laughing to stand up specials and comedies—his preferred movie genre.

Colin was loved by so many people and will be forever missed.
