Christina Bloom

Christina Lane Bloom slipped peacefully into the Lord's hands on 14 May at her home in Denver. Christina was born 29 June 1946 to Ernest and Loretta Roose in Indianapolis, IN. After her Dad was tragically killed in an airplane crash in 1954, mom, Christina and sister Andrea(Andy) moved to several places in the Midwest, finally settling in Sedalia, MO where she graduated from Smith-Cotton High School. She then went to Central Missouri State College where she graduated and was President of her sorority Alpha Sigma Alpha.

Christina was an avid skier, loved to bike, play tennis, watch baseball, football, and especially hockey. She also enjoyed fishing and camping. Plein air oil painting was Christina's real passion, and she became very accomplished at it. She primarily painted landscapes of all types and sizes, but she would never turn down a chance to do an occasional portrait and no matter how difficult it was, she always came out with a beautiful, finished product.

Christina retired from her very successful profession after many years as a Manufacturer's Representative of ladies clothing in 2018 where she built many strong friendships among her clients that she served and other Manufacturer Reps. As another sidelight to her career, she had fun modeling for various ads in and out of the industry.

Christina's idea of a good life was making the other person feel good. She did it with her infectious smile, grace, wit, charm, and undying positivity. She always asked about the person she was with, never talking about herself unless she was asked.  She touched so many people who always felt good about being with her.

Christina Bloom was a very special person in this world. You might say she was an earth angel and her husband, Gary, often called her that. She has a strong faith in Christ and although she has no special affiliation with any one church, she feels that Christ is with her always to help her though any trouble she encounters. When we found out that she had a stage 4b illness in June 2018 she accepted that and treated it as a challenge that could be beaten. Some would say that she had the big "C" and Christina agreed but to her the big "C" is Christ and cancer was the little "c". Being of Danish heritage she was a natural fighter and she fought with all of her being to conquer this very rare and aggressive form of the disease. She surrounded herself with the best of all doctors headed by Dr. Jeffrey James. With her positive outlook...... her three years after her diagnosis were very precious and she did not slow down in her helping to make other people think better about themselves.  Her unselfishness knows no bounds.

Christina also loved her puppies, first Shadow and Tank, then Bear and Vallee, all black labs. Every day she would tell them how much she loved them and that, "they were so good". Add to her resume a huge animal lover.

Her smile is what captured most people. She used that wonderful smile to captivate you and very rarely did you see her without one. Always a smile for anyone who could use it. She made a mark on so many people's hearts.

It's a guarantee that she's smiling with the Lord and Heaven is better off if that is even possible. Heaven gained a great person, and we are all missing her so much.

Christina is preceded in death by her parents; a son Scott Krutsinger; and a daughter Kara Krutsinger. She is survived by her son, Brad Krutsinger; sister, Andy Roose; husband, Gary Bloom; and many cousins, nephews, nieces and grand nieces and nephews. She is greatly missed by all.

A memorial will be held at a later date and may be at her home in Southwest Denver. In lieu of flowers please feel free to donate to your favorite charity in Christina's name.
