Billy Earl Martin, 87, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021. Billy was born in Springfield, Arkansas on April 24, 1933. He married Peggy Hays (deceased) on Friday, November 13, 1953. They celebrated their 62nd Anniversary in 2015. Billy served two years in the United States Army beginning in November 1953. He was honorably discharged in November 1955. He is survived by his two children, Janet (Ed) Sampson of Littleton, CO, Scott (Karen) Martin of Charlotte, NC, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sisters Jemolee (Tuel) Cole of Catoosa, OK, and Frances (Ed) Swalley of Broken Arrow, OK; numerous nieces and nephews. Billy enjoyed traveling and he and Peggy took many sightseeing excursions over the years, both at home and abroad. He was a longtime member of Arapahoe Road Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, usher, and on various committees. Billy was also a dedicated volunteer for the Life Care Center. Funeral services will be held at Arapahoe Road Baptist Church, 780 East Arapahoe Road, Centennial, Colorado on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Ten O'Clock in the Morning. He will be laid to rest at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.
