Born in New York, Tony passed away peacefully on January 11, 2022 at the age of 90 in Denver, Colorado due to complications from Covid. He lived a full, happy life and was a loving father to four children and devoted husband to Liz for 69 years. Tony honorably served in the U.S. Navy as well as graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College, NY. Notably, Tony worked for Grumman for many years and worked on the Apollo 11 lunar landing module program which sent the first lunar landing to the moon. After moving to Colorado in 1978, he then continued his career as an Electrical Engineer for Martin Marietta.
In his free time, Tony had a great passion for sports. He managed Little League teams for his children over the years and he also enjoyed being an umpire for Metro Sports in Colorado for many years. In addition, after retiring from Martin Marietta, Tony continued to pursue his love and passion for sports by ushering for the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies games for 25 years. He was well-known and adored by many of the local fans.
Tony was a dedicated family man, an avid reader, world traveler, lover of classical music and always appreciated and enjoyed his wife’s wonderful cooking.
He is survived by his wife Liz, his four children, Virginia Campbell, Fred Stark, Amy MacKenzie and Will Stark, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm with memorial service at 3:00 pm at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial, CO.
