Anna Gardiner

Anna Beth Charlton Gardiner of Lakewood was a loving wife and mother.  She was a loved by everyone who met her.  People always said what a sweet woman she was.

She was born on April 19, 1925 in Ogden, Utah to Albert Ray Charlton and Maggie Genett Hogge Charlton.  She was the 8th child of seven girls and five boys. Anna Beth returned to her home in Heaven on September 17, 2020 at the age of 95.

On March 6, 1945 she married, Donald Bert Gardiner in Ogden, Utah.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Denver Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 27, 1987. They were married in this life for almost 74 years.  They had three children.

Anna Beth worked for the Federal Government at the time of their marriage.  She worked to put her husband through school.  Her second full time job was as a mother for her three children.  After her children became older she worked part time for May D & F.

During their 74 years of marriage Don and Anna Beth lived in Ogden, Utah; Salt Lake City, Utah; Helena Montana; Denver Colorado; and Berkley Heights, New Jersey.

In her spare time Anna Beth kept very busy with activities.  She bowled on two different leagues.  She loved to play golf.  She played for many years and became a member of the Hole in One Club, She also enjoyed going to the spa.  She could be seen there on almost a daily basis.  She swam laps, did aerobics, and stair step classes.  Anna Beth also played in many bridge groups over the years. Don and Anna Beth were also faithful fans of the Denver Broncos.  They had season tickets for many years. When they tore down the old Mile Hi Stadium, they were given the seats they sat in for many games. They also took family vacations every year to visit family in Utah and traveling to as many National Parks as possible. Their favorite vacation spots they visited every year were in Glenwood Springs, Colorado and Estes Park, Colorado.  These vacations always involved hiking trails and were educational.  In their travels they visited every U.S. state.

Anna Beth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She faithfully served the Lord over the years in various positions.

Anna Beth is preceded in death by her loving husband, Don; her parents; brothers Norvel, George, John, and Merrill; and sisters Arvilla, Dora, Genett, Laura, Mae, and Elda. She is survived by her daughters Paula (Richard) Millsapps and Marsha (Russell) Mackay, and a son Mark.  She is also survived by her six grandchildren, 18 great grand children, and 4 great, great grand children.  She is also survived by her youngest brother, Larry Charlton of Utah.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 9227 W. Dartmouth Pl. Lakewood, CO 80227.  The service is at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Crown Hill Mortuary located at 7777 W 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033.
