Ann Matthews

Ann Darling Matthews, 70, of Parker, CO, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021. She was born August, 30, 1950 in Topeka, KS. Ann was adopted on October 12, 1950 by Raymond and Theresa Darling of Tulsa, OK.

Ann married the love of her life, Steven Matthews, 50 years ago in Tulsa, OK. She graduated from OSU-TI with a degree in Technical Writing in OKC, OK. They ventured far and near due to Steve’s career in the oil industry. Along the way they met many friends whom became family. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her family. She was so proud to be a veteran’s wife and mother. She was equally proud of her daughter. But her greatest joy were her beautifully talented grandchildren. They were her reasons for living. Ann and Steve finally landed in Parker when Ann found her forever home with the same address as their wedding date.

Ann loved adventuring, which took them across the pond to France and the Netherlands and back again. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, especially with her grandchildren. She also loved to play games and was known on several occasions to play a mean game of dominoes.

Survivors include her husband, Steve Matthews of Parker, CO; her children, Josh Matthews (Heather) of Highlands Ranch, CO and Melissa Ansley (George) of Rocky Ford, CO; her brother, William Darling of Tulsa, OK; her four grandchildren, Hailey and Tyler (Josh) and Tillie and Slade (Melissa). She was preceded in death by her father and mother (Raymond and Theresa Darling) of Tulsa, OK.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Horan & McConaty Funeral Service located on 5303 E County Line Rd
