Ainslie O'Neil

Ainslie entered this world on April 23, 1990, and left it abruptly on December 18, 2022.

Ainslie was a force in this life.  She was an accomplished athlete, artist, photographer, instructor, landscape architect, and student.

Most importantly she was an accomplished daughter, sister, partner, and friend.

There is not one soul whose life she touched who is not a better person for it.  Ainslie approached every interaction, no matter how small or short, with such intention.  She was the most “present” person I have ever known.

One of Ainslie’s greatest joys was being outside!  She loved climbing, hiking, swimming, skiing, rafting, running, camping, and . . . biking.  It feels like some cosmic joke that her sweet life was cut short doing something she loved so deeply.  She rode her bike everywhere, and with anyone who was willing.  She rode that same heavy bike in the many triathlons in which she participated, making it “lighter and therefore faster” by removing the milk crate attached to the back rack, never going so ridiculously far as to removing the actual rack itself (insert exaggerated eye roll here).  Oh my, to know her was to love her!

Ainslie loved people so incredibly deeply and fully, warts and all.

My most fervent prayer for all of us struggling with her absence is that we would find ourselves grateful for having been given the privilege of knowing and loving her, and passing along all the love and life lessons she taught us.

Ainslie leaves behind her momma Cindy Stepp and her “Stepp” dad Doug, her Daddio Chris O’Neil and step mom Lynn, brothers Michael, Jesse, and Sam, her much anticipated and much loved sister Hannah, her Grandma Nancy, her partner Oscar, her sweet dog Clay, and countless other family and friends.

Please join us to celebrate a life well lived at 6:00pm on Friday, 12/30 at the Posner Center For International Development 1031 33rd Street, Denver, 80205.  Food will be provided.  Please dress casually and colorfully.
