Yu-Mei 'Candy' Malchow, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on July 13th, 2024 peacefully in her sleep. She was born in Taoyuan, Taiwan on September 14th, 1957. Yu-Mei met her beloved husband, Robert Malchow, and then embarked on their 50-year marriage on April 24th, 1974.
Yu-Mei has been reunited with her mother: Tsou Hsiang-Mei, father: Huang Yung-Pin, and brother: Ming-Lun Huang. Her memory lives on through her husband Robert; her three sons: Aaron Malchow and his spouse Michele, Albert Malchow and his spouse Samantha, Adam Malchow and his spouse Christine Carroll; seven grandchildren: Alisa, Arianna, Amelia, Alexia, Alexander, Austin, and Annabelle; great grandchild: Elesis; and her siblings Yu-Hua Huang, Yu-Zhen Song, Pei-Hua Chang, Cheng-Gio Huang, and Yu-Li Huang.
Yu-Mei was a radiant spirit who enjoyed nurturing her loved ones through the art of cooking. With every meal she prepared, she expressed her boundless love and affection for her family and dearest friends. From her days long preparation for family hot pot feast to her soy sauce eggs and radish rib soup, Yu-Mei’s cooking was more than just nourishment—it was a testament to her deep care, love, and devotion.
