Wilson "Willie" Williams

On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, Wilson Wilton “Willie” Williams of Highlands Ranch, CO passed away at the age of 87.

Willie was born on August 22, 1935 in Glendive, MT to Newell E. and Lillian D. Williams.  He graduated from Montana State University (then Montana State College) in 1958 with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.  He married Eva Louise Kenney on September 7, 1957.  Together they had three children – Lori Lynn, Bruce Alan, and Steven Scott.

Willie spent his profession in the oil and gas industry, with his career moving him to North Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, Wyoming, and finally landing in Colorado in 1986. He was an expert in the refining, marketing, and distribution of natural gas. He semi-retired in 1992 but continued to do significant consulting/contracting work for the industry for several more years.

Willie was an avid fisherman and loved being outdoors.  He loved cooking, particularly pasta and grilled dishes (complemented with a beer of course!)  Willie was a big football fan and enjoyed watching other sports as well. He also had a passion for music, particularly jazz and “Big Band” groups. Willie and Louise loved to travel and often drove to various jazz festivals where they always made new friends.  They frequently went all over the country to visit with friends and family from all phases of life.  These friends included those they made throughout their married life from the “early days” onward.  They sustained these friendships for decades, even until the current time. In addition to their numerous friends, they maintained deep connections with various members of both sides of the family, whom they also often visited.

Willie is survived by his wife Louise, his sons Bruce (Trudi) and Steven (Tammy), his grandchildren Tyson, Tasia, and Hailey, and his nieces Cathryne (William) and Jodie (David), and his grandnephews Dustin and Jacob.

Wilson is preceded in death by his daughter Lori, his parents Newell and Lillian, his grandnephew Mark, and his sister Kathryn (Kay) Denson.

A Funeral Mass will be held for Willie on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 10:30am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9905 Foothills Canyon Blvd., Highlands Ranch, CO 80129.
