Wilma Jean Mitchell

Wilma Jean Mitchell passed away peacefully in her home in Littleton, Colorado surrounded by family on Sunday, June 23rd at the age of 79. 

She was born on August 16, 1944. She grew up in Englewood Colorado with her parents and brothers. She met the love of her life, James “Jim” Mitchell, in 1948 at the age of 3. They lived across the street from each other. She graduated from Englewood high school in 1962. After high school she worked as a secretary for the Bureau of Mines. She married Jim in 1967. Jim had been in the Navy and they spent some time in Bremerton, WA together after they married. They had two daughters and in 1976 built a home in Parker, Colorado where she enjoyed being a homemaker spending time with her family, friends and horseback riding. She was also very involved in her church that she attended since she was 12, when she made the decision to follow Jesus. In 2003 she and Jim left Parker and moved to Littleton, Colorado where they have resided ever since.

She is preceded in death by her mother Eugenia Faith Pearson, her father Fred Taylor Pearson, and her brother Richard Pearson. She is survived by her brother Kenneth Pearson, her husband James Mitchell, her Daughter Carla Meisinger (Tim), her daughter Jana Marshall (Daniel), and all of her grandchildren that she loved so much; Caitlynn Hertz (Jared), Luke Marshall (Zoe), Brooke Elbert, Michaela Yeomans (Dan), Elliana Meisinger, and Jameson Meisinger, and her great-grandchildren; Morgan Hertz, Jackson Hertz, Wilder Marshall, Landon Yeomans, and baby girl Marshall arriving in September. 

A public viewing is scheduled at Horan and McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood, CO 80227 on Sunday June 30th from 2pm-5pm. Her funeral service and lunch reception will be held at Grace Memorial Church, 1370 Holly St. Denver, CO 80220 on Monday, July 1st at 11am. Donations in her honor can be made to Grace Memorial Church.
