Elizabeth, Colorado. Wilma Faye (Betts) Fletcher, 93, passed away quietly at home July 25, 2025, after a short illness. She was Born September 23, 1931, at home just outside of Byers, Colorado. She was the youngest child of Earl and Della Bella (Pickerel) Betts.
Wilma grew up in Byers and graduated from Byers High School. After she graduated, she moved to Denver, Where she worked and met her future husband, John Fletcher. They were married in 1953 and had five children together.
After working several different jobs, Wilma began working for the University of Colorado Health and Science Center. She stayed with the University of Colorado for about 30 years.
Wilma enjoyed attending church, her family, reading, gardening, and in her later years, coloring.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her four brothers, two sisters, one grandson, and a great-grandson.
Wilma is survived by her five children, Deborah (Jim) Roach, Mary (Steve) Buitt, Cynthia Fletcher, Sandra (George) Kunze, and David (Michelle) Fletcher. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Services held at the Elizabeth LDS church at 34200 County Road 17, Elizabeth, Colorado. Services presided by Bishop Luck and a small reception held after. Interment at Byers Cemetery, Byers, Colorado.
