William M. Young

William M. Young, 92, of Aurora, CO, died October 20, 2023.

Mr. Young was born to Millard A. and Hildred M (Dennis) Young on April 30, 1931 in Bay City, Michigan. He was a retired 21-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He married Delores M. Merrill in Kanopolis, KS on January 31, 1954. After his Air Force service, he had a second career as an auditor for the state of Colorado. He retired on Jan. 31, 1995.

He memberships included Burns Memorial United Methodist Church, Revelation Lodge No. 180 AF&AM as Worshipful Master, Dawn Chapter No. 25 OES as Worthy Patron, Worthy Grand Patron of the Grand Chapter of Colorado OES, Denver Consistory as Commander of the Colorado Council of Kadosh, El Jebel Shrine, Colo York Rite bodies, The American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; his parents, and his sister, Jean Reed of MI.

Survivors include his children, Walter, Mark, David and Susan of Aurora, and Robert of Lamar; brother, John of Bay City, MI; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11am at Burns Memorial UM Church, 1095 Newark Street, Aurora, CO 80010. A private committal service will be on Tuesday, November 21st at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Bill's name to the Burns Memorial United Methodist Church or the Grand Chapter OES.
