William ""Bill"" Louis Suvada

July 18, 1932 — June 2, 2016

William Louis Suvada William (Bill) was born on July 18, 1932 in Oak Creek, Colorado to Stephen and Evelyn (McChesnie) Suvada. After 83 years of a wonderful life, he has gone to be with the Lord. Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret; his 4 children, William Jr., Krisi Johnson (Glen), Stephen, and Kelly Matta (George); 8 grandchildren, Courtney (Matthew), Lindsay (Jess), Brock (Rachel), Sarah, Michael, Bethany, Haley, and Anthony; and 6 great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Andrew, Lily, Sophia, Luke, and Noah. After living in Oak Creek, Bill grew up in the Denver and later lived in Thornton, Lakewood and finally Conifer. He was famous for his love of the outdoors, his artistic ability - often creating hand-made masterpieces for family and friends, always having a candy jar nearby, and his knowledge of fly fishing. He attended South High School in Denver. Shortly after, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Boatswain's Mate, General Third Class in the Beach Masters Unit 1 during the Korean War from February 1951-July 1953. Upon return from the war, he married his sweetheart, Margaret in 1954. Bill began his work career as a janitor at Ehret Engraving Company in Denver, and eventually worked his way up to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Capital Engraving Company. After his retirement, Bill fulfilled a life-long dream of his and opened South Platte Anglers, a local fly fishing shop in Conifer. More recently, Bill enjoyed his involvement and camaraderie in the VFW Post #12009 in Conifer, always advocating on behalf of all veterans. A Celebration of Bill's life will be held at Horan & McConaty located at 3101 S Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, 80227 followed by a Military service at 12:15 pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery located at 4400 W. Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236 with a reception following back at Horan & McConaty. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations in Bill's name to the VFW Post #12009 - PO Box 1437 Conifer, Colorado, 80433.
