William Daniel Speicher

William ""Bill"" Daniel Speicher, age 85, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019.

Bill was born on August 8, 1934 in Waterloo, Iowa to William and Julia Speicher. He spent his first 12 years in Iowa, the youngest of 10 kids. He and his family moved from Iowa to Colorado in 1946. He attended Englewood High School where he met the love of his life, Florence Wieber. They were married on May 12, 1956. He loved to take walks and explore Englewood. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing when he could. Bill was always known for his amazingly sweet tomatoes. Every summer, he would spend hours watering and tending to the plants to get the tomatoes ""just right."" He loved gardening in all forms and was the one his family would come to for advice when their gardens weren't producing. Roses were some of his favorite flowers and he prided himself on several rose bushes that were 50 + years old and still blooming. He almost always knew the name of a flower or plant that family brought to him. His love for ketchup and Pepsi will be remembered fondly. He was always tinkering in his shed or fixing the car. Bill worked for Gates Rubber Company for 30 years as a factory worker until his medical retirement in 1986.

He is survived by his daughter, Joni Blackie, grandchildren Melissa (Jeremy) Olson, Andrew (Krystyna Zatorski) Blackie, great-grandchildren Keeley Olson and Liam Olson. He is loved and remembered by many nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 11 am at Littleton Cemetery, 6155 South Prince Street, Littleton, CO 80120.
