William James Malone

William (Bill) James Malone, 83 William (Bill) James Malone, 83, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Saint Anthony’s Hospital. Born in Trinidad, Colorado to William and Helen Malone, he lived most of his life in Lakewood, Colorado. Bill is survived by his wife Barbara of 52 years, sons Jim (Diana), Tim, Ted, Pat, Bill (Lori), Tom (Trish), daughters Ann (Doug) and Sheila (Ron), 15 loving grandchildren, 15 loving great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Bill was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all. Bill served in the Navy for 4 years, and following his honorable discharge he began a career with the City and County of Denver as a heavy equipment operator. After 32 years of service to the Denver citizens, he retired 21 years ago with his wife Barbara. They enjoyed their many years of retirement. His favorite pastimes included working on his extensive operational model train layout, and watching his favorite TV programs (especially Colorado Rockies Baseball and the Denver Broncos). The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 3:00 until 4:00 PM at the Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 3101 S Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80227. A reading of the Rosary will follow. Funeral services will be at Saint Jude Catholic Church, 9405 W Florida Ave, Lakewood, CO 80232 from 11:00 until 1:30 PM on Monday, August 28, 2017. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, 7777 W 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
