William Reed Liermann

William Reed Liermann was born to Herman & Salome Liermann in Whittier, CA on April 3rd,1930 and entered into his eternal rest at the age of 90 on February 15th, 2021. He is survived by his children, Jo Lynn Wagers of Mesa AZ, Samuel Liermann of Stockton, CA, Jennifer White of Las Vegas, NV, Andrew Liermann of Las Vegas, NV, and Melodi Breinig of Lakewood, CO. Bill loved family and was very proud of his 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

He graduated high school in 1947 and went on to serve as a Sargent in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War Conflict in 1950-1952 as a squad leader of Dog Battery 105 Howitzers. He earned a Presidential Unit Citation with 1 star and the United Nations Ribbon Korean Service medal with 3 stars.

After the conflict, Bill returned home to raise his family. He worked in the oil fields, on a production line, and in other fields before settling in as an automotive salesman for Montgomery Wards until he retired and bought the house in the country he had always dreamed of in Stilwell, OK. He lived there until 2016 when he came to be with his daughter’s family in Lakewood, CO due to experiencing the beginning symptoms of dementia where he resided until his passing of the disease.

Bill became a Christian in his middle age and the experience forever changed him. He was very active in the church leading Bible studies and participating in ministries for the elderly. He had a wonderful sense of humor, took in many strays (animal and human alike), and loved, and was loved, by his entire family. He will be greatly missed.
