William Allen Kohnen

William Allen Kohnen, 27, passed away in peace at his mother's home in Lone Tree, CO on the morning of April 20, 2014 after a short illness. Will was born in Panorama City, California on May 13, 1986. He was a 2004 graduate of Highlands Ranch High School where he excelled in academics, band, and basketball. He studied Chemical Engineering for 1 year at the University of Colorado before discovering his true love of food hospitality, and was a long time waiter at Toast: Fine Food and Coffee in Littleton. He was the owner and operator of Willie D's BBQ. Will is preceded in death by his grandmother; Mary Sue Herbertson. He is survived by his parents; Roberta Herbertson of Lone Tree, CO and Kerry W. Kohnen of Atlanta, GA, his brother; Eric Kohnen of New Orleans, LA; his sister; Elizabeth Buckner of Old Fort, NC, brother-in-law, Benny Buckner and niece, Cadence Buckner, paternal grandparents; Joseph and Audrey Kohnen of West Hills, CA, maternal grandfather; Robert Herbertson of Hartwell, GA, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. His family asks that donations be made to the William Kohnen Memorial Fund of the Colorado Honor Band Association, where Will was a dedicated member for many years. His celebration of life will be Saturday, May 3rd at 3:30 pm at St Luke's Methodist Church, 8817 S Broadway, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129.
