William George Hogan, age 97, died peacefully in Lakewood, Colorado on Oct. 7, 2024. He was born at home in Wiggins, Colorado to parents, James and Anna Hogan on December 8, 1926. George graduated from Wiggins High School and immediately entered the Army to serve as a Medic during the end of World War II. He married Antoinette DeBoer in Denver, on February 4, 1950. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Denver. He worked in the trucking industry in sales, eventually retiring in 1992, from NW Transport.
Bill generously sponsored thirteen family cruises and many Laughlin trips with his wife and girls. He enjoyed pheasant hunting, golf, was an avid gardener and sports enthusiast. He remained an ever faithful fan of the Rockies.
William was preceded in death by his wife, parents, six brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his daughters; Cynthia Berquist (Larry) of Lakewood,CO. Suzanne Cooper (Rick) of Scottsdale, AZ and Sally Labertew of Phoenix, AZ, five grandchildren; Katelynn, Jessica (John), Morgan(Kenyon), Michael and Brock and 4 great grandchildren, Tesa, Isabella, Davis and Dawson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
A military service will be held for William Hogan at Ft. Logan National Cemetery on Monday, Nov. 4th th at 1:30p.m. with a reception to follow at Foothills Golf Course. Donations in William’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
