William "Fred" Gauley

William “Fred” Gauley, age 92, died peacefully on November 19th, 2025. He was a graduate of Ringwood High School in Ringwood, Oklahoma. He entered the Air Force in 1952 and moved to Colorado where he met his wife, Billie. They married in 1955 and had 2 children, Cynthia Kaye and Kimberley Sue. In 1977, Fred received his associates degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Arapahoe Community College. After his time in the Air Force, he worked for the U.S. Post Office and U.S. Department of Labor until his retirement in 1994.

Fred had a thirst for knowledge and loved everyone he met. He was an avid historian, conversationalist, and football fan. If there was anything he loved more than his family, it was the Denver Broncos and the OSU Cowboys.

Fred is survived by his daughter Kimberley Moffitt, his son Paul Gauley, and his grandchildren Kyle Moffitt, Keenan Moffitt (Victoria), Abigail Moffitt, and Madison Kozlowski Gauley. He was preceded in death by his brother Captain James Paul Gauley of the United States Air Force, his wife Billie June Gauley, his sister Patricia Ann Murphy, and his daughter Cynthia Kaye Muirhead.

Fred’s legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he met. Please join us and share your stories of remembrance on December 2nd, 2025, at Horan & McConaty on Dartmouth & Parker. Interment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 2 pm.
