William "Bill" Patrick Farr, born July 27, 1959, in Taylorville Illinois to Harriet and George Farr, passed away peacefully after his battle with cancer.
Bill was the devoted husband of Mary Farr, whom he married on August 13, 1983. Together they shared 43 wonderful years of marriage. He was the proud father of Ryan, Anthony, and Danny, and the equally proud grandfather of George Farr, who was named after Bill’s Father, Grandfather, as well as carrying on the Farr name. Bill was a loving brother to Gary, Jane, Peg, Tom, and Carol and a cherished uncle to his 16 nieces and nephews. A brother-in-law to Donna, Steve, and Bruce. He loved his Daughter-In-Laws Jami, Erica and Estella.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Western Illinois University and became a Certified Public Accountant. In 2005, he founded 361 Services, building it into a highly respected firm.
A talented athlete, he played basketball and baseball for the Taylorville Tornadoes. Bill gave generously of his time as a coach of both basketball and baseball. He served as president and advocate for Lakewood Junior Baseball and Foothills Hockey, helping countless young athletes grow in skill and character. A loyal Colorado sports fan, he cheered passionately for the Avalanche and the Nuggets. He was also a member of Camp-2-Nature (C2N), a close-knit community of friends who howled at the moon on their annual camping trips.
In retirement, Bill could often be found walking Petey, his sidekick dog, at Belmar Park. He loved golfing, fly fishing, and above all spending time with family and friends. He was a true man of the people.
Bill will be remembered for his warm smile, steady presence, dedication to family and community, and a deep curiosity for how someone was.
He is survived by his wife Mary; his sons Anthony and Danny; his grandson George; his siblings Gary, Jane, Peg, Tom, Carol and Donna; and his many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Bill's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Gold Crown Foundation benefiting the youth in our community.
