William Samuel Eustace

February 27, 1939 — October 10, 2025

Centennial, Colorado

William Samuel “Bill” Eustace passed away at home October 10th, 2025 at the age of 86. Bill was born February 27th, 1939 in Lander Wyoming to William Albert and Marge Eustace. Bill was an avid outdoorsman and grew up hunting and fishing with his family, which they considered sustenance as well as vacation. Bill was also a golf fanatic most of his life and loved playing different courses all across the country. He organized many backpacking trips in Colorado, but he especially loved trips to the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming. Those backpacking trips were legendary and are fondly remembered by many. Bill was a man of few words and did not enjoy many social activities, but he did love his family, especially his grandchildren.

Bill attended Fremont County Vocational High School and joined the Army followed by the Air Force where he was stationed in Greenland on the DEW Line. After his service Bill studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Wyoming under the GI Bill, graduating with Sigma Tau honors. Bill went to work for General Electric after graduation where he worked in power generation services for his entire career which lasted over 30 years. As an engineer, Bill could fix almost anything and loved working with his hands, doing anything from custom gun work to sewing Frostline kits like sleeping bags and tents. For Bill’s last and longest project, he worked with his daughter Sheila and her husband Chris, spending about a decade building a custom log cabin on Marge’s land off Chittim Road, which now stands as a testament to his love and perseverance.

Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years Mary Jane Rorhback Eustace, brother Jim and Gigi Eustace, daughter Sheila and Chris Boettcher, sons Michael and Diane Eustace and Bill and Kelly Eustace, and grandchildren Kenneth Frederick, Jacob Frederick, Ryan Eustace, Abigail and Brian Froechtenigt, Nicole Eustace, Sarah and Stephen Rowe and Will A. Eustace and fiancé Marlee Brooks, as well as great grandson Liam Froechtenigt.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Saturday October 25, at Horan & McConaty Mortuary at 5303 E County Line Road, Centennial, CO 80122. The family is also planning to inter his ashes at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander over the 4th of July holiday, 2026 and details will be announced once they have been finalized.

Bill will be remembered for his quiet strength, adventurous spirit and the love he poured into his family. His legacy endures in the wilderness he loved, the cabin he built, and the generations who will carry his memory forward.
