William Stevens Bullen

July 9, 2006 — July 11, 2025

Aurora

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William Stevens Bullen, who was tragically taken from us at the tender age of 19 on July 11, 2025. Born in Lone Tree, Colorado on July 9, 2006 and grew up in Aurora, Colorado as the oldest of 3 children.

Bill was the most amazing special young man, who was wise beyond his years, with a zest for life that was truly inspiring. From an early age, his obsession for sports became evident. He loved American football with a passion! Against all his mother’s best attempts to convince him to be a Denver Broncos fan, he became an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers supporter. He had an incredible ability to recall statistics and details about any player from any year on any team. His knowledge was vast on all subjects, and he loved to engage in spirited debates, always ready to argue the opposing side with enthusiasm.

During high school his love of football grew even more as he played for the Grandview team all 4 years. He loved everything about being a part of the team, his teammates, his coaches and the strategy of the game. Outside of football he surrounded himself with an amazing group of friends that together created memories that will last a lifetime.

As a student at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Bill had recently joined Phi Kappa Tau and embraced all that the college experience had to offer. His time pledging and the brotherhood bonds that he had already built were so important to him. As part of Leeds School of Business program, Bill was focused on becoming an accountant and had just returned from a trip abroad in Switzerland. In true Bill fashion he had enjoyed every second of it. This adventure inspired him to pursue studying abroad as part of his degree.

But beyond his accomplishments, Bill was all about family. He was the most loving son to his “Pa-paw” David and “Ma-maw” Jamie. They have always been and are so, so proud of their Billy Boo and will forever always be. He was the most adoring big brother to both Kieren and Jensen. He was always there for them, sharing his love, knowledge, and strength as well as knowing exactly which buttons to push to rile them up (as any big brother would). He will always continue to be with them, always guiding and inspiring them.

Though his time with us was short, Bill left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He will live on in our hearts forever. We will cherish the memories we have of him and find comfort in knowing that he lived his life with joy and purpose.

Bill is survived by his parents David and Jamie; his brother and sister Kieren (17) and Jensen (15) and their dog Bailey; his grandparents Burt and Joie Stevens, Roy and Sue Bullen; his Aunts, Uncles and cousins, Lynne and Ben Schmidt (Carson & Avery), Toni and Steven Axon (Austin, Alastair and Elliott) and Brad Stevens. He is preceded in death by his loving dog Monty.

Bill’s Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 25 at 1pm at Eastern Hills Community Church at 25511 E. Smoky Hill Rd, Aurora, CO 80016. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations in Bill’s name to the Jacqueline Rush Foundation or Phi Kappa Tau’s philanthropy SeriousFun Children’s Network - Where Children With Medical Challenges Find Hope and Belonging or Meal Train for The Bullen Family

Rest in peace, Bill. You are always and forever so deeply loved, missed, and will never ever be forgotten.
