William "Bill" Henry O'Neill

William O’Neill, age 98, passed away on November 16, 2023.  After serving 25 years in the U.S. Air Force, he retired as a Lt. Colonel in November 1968.  As a civilian, he flew as a corporate pilot for a few years.  He later worked for Jefferson County as the County Zoning Administrator until retirement in 1987.

Bill loved life, especially the outdoors.  He hunted, fished, snow and water skied, hiked, climbed 14’ers and was a voracious reader of military history and of the experiences of other members of the military.

He also loved his country. He supported many endeavors which worked to ensure the freedom of this country and contributed to a number of charities in support of former military members.  Contributions in his memory may be made to the Mountain States Legal Foundation, Judicial Watch, Wounded Warriors, or Tunnels to Towers.

Funeral services will be held at Christ on the Mountain Catholic Church, 13922 West Utah Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado 80228, on December 13, 2023. Times are as follows:  Rosary at 10:30 a.m.; followed by services at 11:00 a.m.   Burial will take place at Pikes Peak National Cemetery on December 14, 2023 at 11:00a.m.
