Horan & McConaty Funeral Service and Cremation - Southeast Denver/Aurora
11:00 am - 12:00 pm (Mountain (no DST) time)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wendy Witt Preissner, who departed this world peacefully at her home on July 3, 2026, at the age of 74. Wendy's life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and devotion to her loved ones and community.
Wendy was the beloved daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Sargent. She is survived by her cherished son, Brandon Witt, and his wife, Naomi, and by her daughter-in-law, Marsha Brown-Witt. Her legacy of love continues through her grandchildren — Mel James III (Danielle), Aaric Witt (Jayden), Isaiah Witt, and Jade Witt — and her two great-grandchildren, who will forever remember her warmth and wisdom. Wendy was preceded in death by her beloved son, Aaron Witt.
In 1974, Wendy married Ron Witt, embarking on a journey of love and companionship that lasted 32 years, until Ron's passing in 2007. Wendy later found love again with Guy Preissner, whom she married on February 28, 2015. Their time together was filled with mutual respect, music, and love until Guy's passing on May 23, 2024. Like both of her beloved husbands before her, Wendy faced cancer with quiet courage and grace.
Professionally, Wendy devoted 27 years of her life as a school bus driver for Cherry Creek Schools, a role she embraced with enthusiasm and care. She was more than a driver — she was a mentor and a source of encouragement for the children she transported each day. Her radiant smile and kind words were a comforting presence, brightening the mornings and afternoons of countless young lives.
A celebration of Wendy's life will be held on July 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, CO 80014. Family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable life she led and the indelible impact she made on everyone she met.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Wendy's generous spirit and her lifelong commitment to helping others.
Wendy's love was a blessing, and her memory will forever be a treasure. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in our hearts and in our actions.
One of Wendy's favorite Bible passages was John 3:15–16 (KJV):
"That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
