Wayne Roberson

Wayne Roberson died on 8/21/22, suddenly and peacefully, while taking a nap.  Wayne is the cherished husband of Sharon Monahan Roberson, married for 30 years.   Father of Henry (Kim) Roberson Jr., and Anthony (Cindy) Roberson.  Brother of Victor (Denise) Roberson.    Beloved brother-in-law of Kevin Emerson, Colleen and Larry Peters, Teri Montgomery, Kelly Sala, Patrick and Marla Monahan.  Very proud grandfather to Eric (Ava), Isiah, Aeneus and Marcus.  Wayne, a member of the Monahan Clan, will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.

Wayne was a kind, gentle, burley man who had an infectious, large personality and everyone he met remembered him.  He was outrageously witty with a wicked sense of humor and could make his very serious wife laugh until she cried over the silliest of things.  Wayne loved a strong cocktail, a good book and a rare steak!

A native Denverite, he went to East High School, and kept in contact with many of his childhood friends.  A gifted athlete he was an All-City wide receiver; played basketball and baseball at Metro State.   His favorite pastime for many years was playing tennis and he spent weekends on one of Denver’s tennis courts from dawn until dusk.

At Metro State, Wayne started driving a Yellow Cab part time and worked at the company for nearly four decades.  He drove, managed operations, the airport limousine service, the paratransit program and dispatched.  To many at the company he was fondly known as Dr. Dispatch.

Wayne and Sharon traveled extensively together.  He often related to family and friends, he just followed her to the next exotic location, carrying the luggage.  London was his favorite city and Wayne, Sharon and members of the Monahan Clan vacationed in the Kapalua Bay region of Maui, HI annually.

We will miss you so very much our adored Waynee-Boy and can’t wait until we meet again!
