Walter Fern Hansen

Walter F. Hansen, 87, passed away at the Colorado State Veteran's Home in Aurora, Colorado on September 10, 2024. 

He was a graduate of Highline High School in Burien, Washington. Directly after graduation, Walter started his 42 year long career with United Airlines. He was able to complete his tour of duty with the United States Navy while maintaining his position at United Airlines between 1958-1960. In 1962, he met his wife of 61 years, Virginia, in Seattle, Washington.

Walter was a man of many hobbies, but his one true passion was the outdoors. He loved to hunt and target shoot and was an avid gun collector. He was never more excited than when preparing for the yearly elk season!

He is survived by his wife, Virginia, their sons David and Edward, and Jackie, their daughter. He is also survived by five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. He is also survived by one brother, Art. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters(Thelma and Velma), and one brother(Bill). 

Memorial services will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery on October 10, 2024 at 12:30pm.
