Wallace G. Hunt, 92, Englewood, Colorado, passed away peacefully at his home on December 19, 2022.
He was preceded by his loving wife of 51 years, Beverly "Jean" Hunt. Born on October 3, 1930, in Casper, Wyoming, he was an officer in the Wyoming National Guard, and also worked in the local oilfields, gauging oil storage tanks. In 1957, he decided to accept an opportunity to go on active duty with the U.S. Army.
Wallace eventually retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Army, with 26 years of active-duty service, including two tours of duty in Vietnam. He said the highlight of his military career was commanding a field artillery battalion in the 1st Cavalry Division, in Vietnam. Following his retirement, he spent time visiting his beloved state of Wyoming, was an active fisherman, ballroom dancer at the Arthur Murray Studio, and a Mason. He is survived by his son, Richard Hunt, and daughter, Rachel Hunt-Bowles. His brother, Harvey Hunt, lives in Sheridan, Wyoming.
Services will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 4400 West Kenyon Avenue, Denver, Colorado, at 1:00 PM. Details can be found below.
