Vivian Brettell

Vivian Jean Brettell was born May 14,1931 and passed onto her next adventure September 26, 2021 in Denver, Colorado. Vivian was a devoted wife for 57 years to Thomas Brettell and was a spunky, encouraging and nurturing mother of 3; Chris Brettell, Greg Brettell, and Catherine Brettell who sadly passed on years ago. This family moved around the states 14 different times, only to return to her hometown of Denver.

Vivian loved her 4 grandchildren; Lindsey Brettell, Holly Brettell whom she raised as her own after the passing of Catherine, Lilia Brettell, and Angelina Brettell. Vivian was very proud of her careers which included being a probation officer, gym teacher, and school nurse. Vivian’s passions were knitting, sewing, gardening, and home decorating, always creating a beautiful and welcoming space for her loved ones.

One of Vivian’s favorite stories to tell was when she climbed Longs Peak on a whim with her only sibling Donald Watne. Vivian’s parents Oscar and Daisy Watne were very proud of the strong and independent woman Vivian became. Vivian was a walking encyclopedia and knew the answer to any question that was asked. While she may be gone, her spirit will live on in every person she touched in life.
