Virginia June Ruf (Ginny) passed away peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2023. Virginia was born on June 23, 1926 in Lincoln, Kansas to Dr. Arthur and Sarah Jennings Meredith, the youngest of 5 children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward, who she was married to for 65 years, by her parents, and siblings, Janice, Hugh, Robert, and her beloved sister, Ann, who passed away just 3 months ago.
Virginia is survived by her children Randy (Linda), Rick (Tina), Roger (Kathy), and Lorraine Capra; Grandchildren Rachelle (Paul) Boespflug, Sonya (Juan) Diaz, Holly (Fred) Berges, Tyler (Mindi) Ruf, John Ruf, and Gianmarco Capra; Great Grandchildren Brandon, Alicia, Taylor, Ethan, Rudy, Ashton, Noah, and numerous nieces & nephews.
Virginia graduated from Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Kansas and attended Marymount College in Salina, Kansas. She moved to Denver where she met Edward and was married on June 24, 1947. Virginia first worked at Gates Rubber Company and then at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center for over 29 years. She worked in billing and then for the Adult Psychiatric clinic.
Virginia was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish for over 55 years, where she organized many bridge luncheons and was an integral part of the Altar and Rosary Society She was also a Member of the Knights of Columbus Lady Auxiliary.
Services will be on Tuesday April 18th starting at 10:30 in the morning at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 4900 Montview Blvd, Denver, CO 80207 and burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Wednesday April 19th at 1 PM
