Vincent Harold Corbett of Littleton, CO passed away December 1, 2024. He was 94. Known as VH to family and friends, he was a proud Colorado native. An accomplished athlete, VH ran track for South High School where he was State champion in the quarter mile. His college years at University of Colorado were interrupted during the Korean conflict when he served 4 years in the United States Air Force as a radar systems crew-member on B-29 “Superfortress” Bombers.

Following his service, Vince continued his education at CU, graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Along the way he met the love of his life Charlotte and they went on to spend the next 67 years together. He pursued a lifelong career with Martin Marietta working on numerous high-profile projects spanning the 60’s through the 80’s. Dinner table stories were of rockets, capsules and NASA.

Significant among his career accomplishments was his role in developing the camera on the Viking Lander, which captured the worlds very first pictures of the red landscape of Mars. VH was a life-long skier, a “14’er peak bagger,” hiker and avid Bronco’s fan.

In retirement he enjoyed golf, genealogy, photography (especially sunrises), and extensive travel with Charlotte. He also enjoyed volunteering for many years at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

Vince is survived by his wife Charlotte, son Tim (Michelle) Corbett of Durango, CO, daughter Cindy (Jim) Broadus of Centreville, VA and daughter Melinda (John) Grace of Bel Air, MD. VH had 3 grandchildren, Jack, Connor and Sasha. A private celebration of life was held December 11th.
