Victor J. Dent passed away peacefully at his home on November 16, 2024. Born in Sioux City, Iowa, Vic was the beloved son of Sylvester Dent and Iona Myers and was raised by Iona and Robert Klarich. His early years were spent in Sioux City before the family relocated to Colorado, where he attended Wheat Ridge High School.
Vic was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years during the Vietnam War Era, stationed as a seaman aboard the USS Cadmus (AR-14).
Vic married Linda on October 7, 1967 in Lakewood, Colorado.
Vic’s career spanned decades in the automotive industry, with roles at Chrysler Depot, Swiss Tire, Northglenn Dodge, and Christopher’s Dodge World, where he retired. His dedication and expertise left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike.
Vic enjoyed bowling in his younger years till he became an avid outdoorsman… He loved golf, camping, boating & Lake Powell trips. Camping held a special place in his heart, especially with his late wife Linda, best friends Rhonda and Joel, and the cherished group of friends he called his "camping family." After retirement, Vic’s passion for golf flourished. He spent five years as a golf marshal at Westwoods and treasured his time with his golf buddies, “The Old Geezers,” at Lake Arbor Golf Course.
Vic’s love for 1950-1960s music, Elvis Presley, NASCAR, and the Denver Broncos brought him great joy. As season ticket holders since 1969, he and Linda shared many unforgettable moments cheering on their team.
Vic is preceded in death by his wife Linda (2023), son Brian (1972), father Robert Klarich (2008), Mother Iona Maddox (2003), and brother Jim VanBuskirk (2008), Father/Mother in Law Wayne & Rita Dean(2012).
He is survived by his children: daughter Michelle (Bill) and son Daniel (Ali); four grandchildren: Makayla, Erika, Graciela, and Lyla; his sister Jeannie; and numerous brothers- and sisters -in-law, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A military memorial service at Ft. Logan will be held in early 2025, followed by a celebration of Vic’s life. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his kindness, humor, orneriness, and love of family and friends.
