Veronica S. Ibarra

Veronica Sue Ibarra, age 55, devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend departed our world peacefully on May 5, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 26th, 1968, in Sacramento, California, Veronica was born to Susanna Celestina Plasencia and was raised by her mother and stepfather, Angel Plasencia. She lived in Sacramento for 5 years before moving to Boulder, Colorado where she spent most of her life. 

Veronica began her professional journey, working at CU Boulder for five years, immersing herself in the dynamic university environment where she was a loyal Buffs fan! Veronica got the opportunity of a lifetime when she landed her big gig with the Denver Broncos Football Club. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life and when she purchased her home to be closer to her office in Dove Valley. She work the next 27 seasons as an executive assistant for the Denver Broncos and the Bowlen family. Her passion for football extended beyond the regular season as she attended numerous Super Bowls and Hall of Fame events. 

Despite her demanding career Veronica was very family oriented. She instilled the values of love, loyalty, and dedication in everything she did. Her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter filled every room she entered. Veronica’s sense of humor was her gift to the world and a beacon of light that brought comfort and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

She is survived by her brother and sisters: Enrique, Dora, Roger (Sheila), Theresa (Ray), Angela, Victoria (Lucio), children: Angelica (Isaac), Esequiel, Alfonso, Alicia, Andres grand children: Isaac, Jazelle, Xavier, Ezelena, Sam, Esequiel Jr. dogs: Roxie, Chuco 

She was proceeded in death by her mother Susanna, stepfather Angel, son Gabriel, and grand daughter Adaleah

A Funeral Mass will be held, Saturday, May 11, at 2:00pm, at Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; 1535 Logan Street, Denver, CO 80203. 

Visitation will begin at church Saturday, at 1:30pm.  

Private interment to take place at a later date, at Mountain View Memorial Park, Boulder, CO.
