Valentina Chekhovich Ramirez, age 61, passed away on July 18, 2025, after a courageous battle with stage 4 endometrial cancer. She fought for over two years where she always kept her optimism and stayed strong throughout all of it. She fought up to the very end while still doing everything she could to give guidance and support to her family. She cared deeply about her family. She departed peacefully at a hospital in Lone Tree, CO, surrounded by her loving family.
Valentina was born on November 22, 1963, in Kazakhstan, one of the 6 children of Ivan Chekhovich and Maria Yancevich.
She got her college degree in construction and worked as an estimator at a ferroalloy factory in City of Aktyubinsk for over 10 years.
Valentina had her first child, daughter Iryna, in 1988 and raised her as a single mother.
At the end of 2000, they moved to Belarus where Valentina’s mother, most of her siblings and other close relatives lived. She shortly had another child, son Danik, in early 2001, again as a single mother. For the first couple of years living in Belarus, she worked at grocery stores. Later on, she was able to get a job in her field of construction estimating and worked in a couple of different construction businesses.
In 2009 Valentina met her husband, Ernesto Ramirez. In 2010 Valentina and both children moved to Colorado, where she married Ernesto shortly after.
Throughout the next several years, Valentina and Ernesto travelled all around the United States as well as Mexico, visiting Ernesto’s friends and family. There were many trips, and they were frequent as well. Travelling quickly became one of Valentina’s favorite hobbies. She got to visit many beautiful places.
During the different trips, she also became very interested in photography and loved taking many pictures that her family can still look back at today and enjoy.
Gardening became her biggest hobby in the last several years. She created a wonderful garden at their house (back and front yard) and loved taking care of it. As the garden grew, so did her knowledge about all sorts of plants and she became an expert at taking care of them. She would get lots of compliments about her garden and how special it was in the neighborhood. She has also helped her daughter Iryna to create a small, beautiful garden of her own at her house.
She became a grandma/babushka in 2016 when her first grandson Max was born and then again in 2020 when her granddaughter Sasha was born. She spent a lot of precious time with her grandchildren teaching them many important things and having lots of fun. She was very proud of both.
Valentina is survived by her husband Ernesto; two children, Iryna and Danik; her beloved grandchildren Max and Sasha; 3 stepchildren: Adriana, Esteban and Anna Bianca and 3 sisters in Belarus; She is preceded in death by her mother Maria, her father Ivan, and two brothers Oleg and Vasiliy.
Valentina was a wonderful wife, mom and babushka. She will be remembered for all her sacrifices, good deeds, her positivity and how happy she made everyone in the family.
Time will pass but we will never forget her and keep her in our memories forever.
