A Blessed Life â Well Done The Life and Legacy of Timothy Frye, Jr. I can do all things through Christ which strenghtens me. - Philippians 4:13 KJV Timothy, Frye, Jr. (affectionately known as ""Bear"") was born on September 23, 1958 in Denver, Colorado, to the late Timothy Fry and the late Mother Mary Ann Smith. He was the only son and the oldest of five children: Lorrie, Debra, Kimberly, and Rhonda. Indeed, Tim was a devoted brother, uncle, friend, mentor, and counselor. Tim attended Columbine Elementary School and Rishel Middle School, and graduated from Manual High School in 1976 where he excelled in track and field and gymnastics (""Go Thunder Bolts""). He matriculated to Metropolitan State College where in 1981 he earned an Associate's Degree in Physical Education (Teaching and Coaching) with a minor in Accounting. For twenty years Tim was the Program Director at Denver University working with youth gymnastics, and for the past nineteen years, he was a co-owner of Gymnastics Plus. He had a special place in his heart for children and he lived his life trying to make a difference in their futures. Tim was a pillar in the gymnastics community and was very well respected. Tim was the consummate gentleman and a gentle man who loved flowers, Teddy Bears, and foodâof course! His favorite holidays were Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Mother's Dayâhe loved his sisters' cooking! Tim loved music of a variety of genres as well as movies, plays, and books. He would sneak away from the gym to watch his favorite soap opera ""Days of Our Lives!"" Shhh, do not tell anyone ... oops, we just did! In his leisure time, Tim loved to travel and enjoyed bowling. He was overjoyed to have the opportunity to travel to Sydney, Australia to attend the 2000 Summer Olympic Games. Tim was reared up at the Wayside Church of God In Christ where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1990. On April 29, 1991, he was water baptized, and in June 1991, Timothy received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Oh what a revival that was! Lorrie and his brother-in-law Jesse all received ""the Gift"" in the same night. His sisters Rhonda and Kimberly along with the Wayside family and guests, danced, danced, danced that night! Tim was a deacon, a youth chaplain, and a member of the choir. He was a role model who was sincere about his faith and wanted to share it with others. He boldly talked about his faith and never hesitated to speak truth into the lives of others. Tim never grew weary of church work and ministry. On November 8, 2016, God, in His infinite wisdom, called Timothy Frye, Jr. from this earthly life to his eternal reward. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Tim is preceded in death by his parents Timothy Fry and Mother Mary Ann Smith and his well-loved baby sister Rhonda Fry. To forever cherish his memory, Tim leaves his beloved sisters Lorrie A. Jones (Denver, CO), Debra Russell (Tallahassee, FL)., and Kimberly (Jesse) Howard (Denver, CO); nieces Sarah Smith, Liz Rolison, Jessica (Paul) Howard), Kimbra Howard, and Rhonda (Elliot) Benson; nephew Dillard Rolison; great nephews Trevon Rolison, Jaylen Jackson, and Karter Howard; great niece Lela Rolison; special brother Leon Oliver; and a host of many more treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended gymnastics family members. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. â2 Timothy 4:7-8 For a beautiful video tribute to Tim's life and legacy, please see: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzZnknbugAvTckZ6a2xpR2xyRlk/view A Viewing was held Wednesday, November 16, from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at Horan & McConaty HeartLight Center, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, Colorado, 80014, and before the Funeral Service on Thursday, November 17, 9:00am - 10:15am.
