Timothy Lee Campbell, 93, passed away after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease on September 30, 2024. Even until recent time, Tim remained witty and funny, and always had a smile for his family and friends.
Tim’s was a life well lived. He loved being a father to his four sons, Tim (Michelle), Dave, Pete, and Warren (Mike McClung). He loved being a grandfather to his ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to his sons and grandchildren, he is survived by his wife Sharon Lane Campbell and his brother William J. Campbell (Marsha) and sister Carol Call.
Tim was born in Las Animas, Colorado on May 30, 1931, to his parents Timothy Samuel Campbell and Cynthia Narcissa Cooke Campbell. In 1933, the family moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where Tim made lifelong friends through sports (football, basketball, baseball, and track & field) and mischievousness in his years there. Tim graduated Grand Junction High School in 1949 and attended University of Colorado, Boulder, graduating with an accounting degree in 1953.
After graduating from CU, Tim went from Boulder to Bayonne, NJ for Naval Officer’s Training. From there, he served for three years on a destroyer in the Pacific. After completing his service, it was back to Boulder for law school which prepared him for a career as a lawyer with the firm Bradley Campbell & Carney in Golden, CO.
It was important to Tim to contribute in all aspects of his life. He always found ways to connect and make an impact. While at CU, he was president of his fraternity and president of Interfraternity Council. During his career as a lawyer, he was a member of Lion’s Club and various nonprofit boards. He especially enjoyed his time as a member and chair of the board of the Red Rocks Community College Foundation.
Tim loved people. With his wife Sharon he enjoyed family gatherings, long walks, playing golf, travel, and sharing their days. Tim loved being part of a group. He always added fun and laugher to any gathering and entertaining his friends and family with notable limericks.
As Tim’s memory declined, he still smiled, enjoyed music, chocolate, and mealtime. He was blessed to have family and friends visit often.
