Thomas "Tom" David Maxwell

Thomas David Maxwell, age 83, died in Lakewood, CO on October 20, 2024. He was born on September 11, 1941 in Wisner, Nebraska to David and Frances Maxwell. Shortly after graduating high school, Tom moved to Denver, Colorado to attend Regis College. While in college, he met Kathie Lavia of Des Moines, Iowa. The two were married on September 4, 1965. They spent 63 years together having celebrated their 59th anniversary just a couple weeks before his passing.

Tom spent 40 years in the financial services industry. He was President of First Savings Insurance Services which served as the insurance division of First Federal Bank on the Front Range. He also owned Children’s Haven child care center with Kathie. Known for his playful sense of humor, he will be greatly missed and always remembered by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife Kathie, son Rick, daughter Anne and son Todd. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dickie.

A Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 7:00PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood. 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11:30AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 2190 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado.  A reception will immediately follow at the church in the annex.

Tom will be laid to rest at Mount Olivet Cemetery in a private Committal Service.
