Thomas Jeffrey McCaa, deeply loved husband, father, grandfather, and member of the community, passed away at the age of 81 on April 3, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Jeff was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on July 17, 1944 to William Donald McCaa Sr. and Veronica Claire McCaa. In 1958, the family, including his brother William Donald McCaa Jr., moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he met his future wife, Nancy (Kelly) McCaa from Marceline, Missouri. In 1973, Jeff and Nancy relocated to Denver, Colorado where they remained together in their first home and welcomed their son and grandchildren.
He was an architect, graduating from University of Kansas in 1972, and serving in the Air Force Reserve as a loadmaster on his beloved C-124 and later the C-130. Practicing as an architect in Kansas City and then Denver, he designed both public and private properties, eventually starting his own company and taking on work that was important to him.
Jeff was heavily involved in the formation of Good Shepherd Catholic School in Denver, and remained actively involved in the parish for almost 50 years until his passing. He helped with anything that was required, from using his expertise to lead facility upgrades and renovations, recruiting perspective families to the school, providing transportation to mass, and decorating for liturgical holidays. Along with Nancy, they greeted and visited with his fellow parishioners every Sunday, making everyone feel welcome, especially those new to Good Shepherd.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy, their son Chris and his wife Jaimie, his brother Bill, grandchildren Thomas, Shawn, and Erin, and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
He will be dearly missed by his many friends and family. May his optimistic views on life, his humility, and eagerness to help others live on in the lives he touched.
