Thomas "Mike" Galligan, a man whose love warmed the hearts of all who knew him, passed into eternal rest on September 18, 2024, with his beloved wife, Diane, by his side.
Born in Denver, CO, on August 17, 1947, Mike was a true Colorado native, as proud of his roots as he was of his Irish heritage. He met the love of his life, Diane Peterson, in high school, and their love story spanned an incredible 60 years.
Mike's career journey, from Illinois Bell to CenturyLink, was a testament to his dedication and work ethic, but his true passion lay in his family. He was a coach, a cheerleader, a storyteller, and a confidante- a man who poured his heart and soul into those he loved.
Beyond his family, Mike's zest for life was contagious. He and Diane explored the world, from the rolling hills of Ireland to the ancient wonders of Italy. He was a master of Trivial Pursuit, whose encyclopedic knowledge often left his opponents speechless. Recently, he embarked on a quest to become a bourbon connoisseur, eagerly exploring the nuances of this fine spirit. And let's not forget his ongoing mission to perfect his father's legendary fudge recipe - a sweet tradition he hoped to share with generations to come. His laughter came easily, his stories were captivating, and his love for life boundless.
Mike leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a family that is a testament to his unwavering devotion. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane, their children Laura (Jason), Doug (Janeen), Tracy (Patrick), Jim, Peter (April), and Tim (Emily), and his cherished grandchildren Ryan, Dalton, Brooke, Mitchell, Grace, Madeline, Katie, and Cleo. He is also survived by his brother Danny, and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Galligan, his siblings Jay, Mary, and Susan, and his nephew Dustin.
Mike's impact extended far beyond his immediate family. He was a mentor, a friend, and a source of inspiration to many. His dedication to training and developing others throughout his career left a lasting mark on countless lives.
