CURRIGAN, THOMAS G. FORMER MAYOR OF DENVER Thomas G. ""Tom"" Currigan, Sr., 94. He was a Denver native and long-time Colorado resident, having recently moved to Chicago. He is survived by his daughter, Colleen, of Chicago, son Tom, Jr. (Diane) of Arvada, and four step-children, Monroe Davis (Beverly), Patty Williams (Dennis) and Pam Acklin (Wayne) of Amarillo, Texas, and Paula Reed (Richard) of Philadelphia, Pa. He was preceded in death by Frances R. Currigan and Gertrude Curtis Currigan. Mayor Currigan was a 1941 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and was forever loyal to his Fighting Irish. He was active in Denver politics, having served as Denver's Mayor from 1963 - 1968. He was credited with multiple accomplishments during his administration. He also served as Denver City Auditor from 1955 - 1963. Earlier in his career, he worked for the City and County of Denver as a recreation counselor, and later as an Administrative Assistant and Clerk and Recorder for then Denver Mayor Quigg Newton. He later entered into a career with Continental Airlines, serving as one of its Executive Vice Presidents until his retirement. He leaves behind many people whose lives he touched in many ways. Funeral Mass, Monday, January 26, 10 AM, Blessed Sacrament Church, 4900 Montview Blvd, followed by a reception. Interment will be at Mount Olivet.
