Theresa Patricia Mincic (Mattorano)

Theresa Patricia Mincic (Mattorano), aged 86, was called home on Saturday, July 13th, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer. The Earth has lost a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend.

Theresa was born in Trinidad, Colorado, on December 12th, 1937, to Vincenzo James Mattorano and Annie (Paradiso) Mattorano. She grew up in South Garcia (Trinidad), Colorado, alongside her three sisters and five brothers.

A 1956 graduate of Hoehne High School, Theresa began her working life at the local Rexall drug store. She later held positions at Montgomery Ward and General Electric as a Credit Analyst, retiring in her early 60s.

At 23, Theresa met her husband, Antonio (Tony) Mincic, 24, at the town drug store where she worked. Their first date marked the beginning of a lifelong journey together. Married on May 25th, 1961, they resided in Denver, Colorado, before moving to Westminster, Colorado, in August of 1965.

Theresa balanced her responsibilities at home and in the workforce with dedication. She was deeply proud of her family, with her greatest passions being canning and knitting. She taught her children the importance of good manners and honesty. She enjoyed shopping for her family and herself and was an enthusiastic supporter of her children's sports and school events, cheering them on with her unmistakable voice. A devoted fan of the Colorado Avalanche, she hardly ever missed a game.

Theresa was known for her long, meaningful speeches and lectures, which often imparted valuable lessons. She found her greatest fulfillment in creating her family and being part of her parents' family. Theresa's pride in her family was evident to all who knew her, and her commitment and love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was unwavering. She set strong examples and instilled values that her family will carry forward.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Vincenzo James and Annie Mattorano, and her siblings Alfonso, Rose, and Loretta.

Theresa is survived by her brothers Charles (Vince), Tony, Emilio, Frank, sister Peggy and children Vincent Craig Mincic (wife Sherry), Lynn McGill (husband Michael), Toni Mincic (fiancé Eric); her grandchildren Samantha Colbert (husband Wade), Sean McGill, Kristen Stimmler, Kasey Romero (husband Nick), Wesley Mincic (wife Brittany), Riley Mincic; and her great-grandchildren Sophia, Archer, Ella, Kaide, Kohen, Connor, Averie, Sonny.
