Thelma "Terry" Green

January 9, 1929 — March 8, 2025

In Loving Memory

Our family has sadly lost Thelma “Terry” Green at the age of 96. She was born in Springfield, MA. January 9th, 1929 and passed March 8th, 2025.

Terry's career started after marrying Sam and later after having Richard and Patti. She got a job at the Cosmopolitan Hotel downtown Denver helping with banquets. There she met and waited on Francis Van Derbur. Later in 1956 was asked to work at Olinger Mortuaries where she continued for about 26 years. Learning so much that helped her with other challenges that came along. She worked for Colorado Bankers Association for almost 10 years. When her husband could no longer work she took a position with a Law Firm and worked for 10 years. In 2002 Terry and Sam moved to a new home where they enjoyed time together for 4 years before Sam’s passing in 2006. They were blessed with almost 60 years of marriage. It took her a few years to get back into the world and she got involved with a Widows Group two times a month. She stayed connected with Executive Women International that she had been a part of for many years. She truly enjoyed life and embraced it to the fullest. She had family and wonderful friends to help in her later years. She remained special friends with Valerie Horan and family, and was truly blessed with their friendship. Knowing the Horan family; In her words, "working with Valerie and John gave me peace knowing who would be taking caring of me when I pass away".

Terry was very outgoing, sincere and a strong woman, always a true friend to all she met.

Terry was preceded in death by her beloved husband Sam Green who passed away on Jan. 16th, 2006 and her son Richard S. Green who passed away on Oct. 4th, 2022.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Patricia “Patti” (John W.) Sherak Jr.; grandson, Danny (Nicole) Green and great-grand daughters, Samantha and Reese; great grand-daughter, Gjovhanna (Caleb) Smith; great-great-grand daughters, Mira and Ella; nephew Ken Levinson and girlfriend Kathy Terry; nephew ,Gary (Tibby) Levinson; including many “Dear & Special Friends” Terry made over the years; and many “New & Special Friends” made at her assisted living and through Bloom Healthcare/Hospice.

She will be deeply missed.
