Remembering Terry Ludwig:
Terry Ludwig passed through the portals of heaven on February 20, 2024 at the age of 82. He was born and raised in Chicago, IL, where he studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, receiving rigorous training in classic art techniques and color theory.
Terry moved his young family to Denver in 1972 and began a 25-year career as an agent for Farmers Insurance Company. All along the way, he maintained his relationship with art, always with a pencil and sketchpad close at hand and experimenting with color and materials.
In 1995, with the assistance and encouragement of his family, he founded Terry Ludwig Pastels which quickly developed an international following for the quality and rich array of colors it offers.
Throughout his life, Terry was active in church and social projects. Through his work with youth, his love of nature, his family and his network of friends in the arts, Terry touched thousands of lives.
Terry leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Marie (Kapteyn) Ludwig. He is also survived by son and daughter-in-law Geoff Ludwig and Dena Zappa Ludwig, daughter Kristen Ludwig Bangs, and granddaughter Alexandra Bangs.
A service to celebrate the life of Terry Ludwig will be held at Greenwood Community Church, 5600 E. Belleview Avenue, Greenwood Village, CO 80111 on Monday, March 18 at 1:00 pm. (Corner of East Belleview and Holly)
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations to Tunnels to Towers Foundation, a favorite charity of Terry’s. https://www.t2t.org
